MIDSEASON REPORT - Bryant " 007 " Picone

Tom Brady wants her back !!
007 here, and after a few weeks traveling across the continent of Europe, I must say that I’ve missed you all.

I’ve been on a top-secret operation work vacation and in between saving the world and canoodling with a bevy of Swedish models trying to fix the Euro and sightseeing off the coast of Malta, I never got the opportunity to send over the breakdowns for Weeks 3 and 4. My sincerest apologies to our dear fans, friends, and teams, but I hope this entry more than makes up for it.

Weeks 3 and 4 were exciting. Week 3 provided a bunch of memorable performances to add to the archives highlighted by Mark Lee’s 35 point-outing which marks our young league’s all-time high! Week 4 was more of the same as Ace Wan showed up big in a losing effort, tallying a personal
high of 29.

Before we get into the recaps, I think it’s time to hand out some hardware. After much deliberation and plenty of internal angst, me, myself and I have determined the winners of some of the most prestigious awards in the history of organized basketball. Let’s check the ballots.

Midseason Awards
**Note** – Averages for Midseason Awards are through Week 4.
Jesus Shuttlesworth Award
This award goes to the most prolific scorer in the league. Someone who's not afraid to bust his own Dad's ass… even if his Dad is none other than Denzel.
Winner: Mark Lee/James Choi – This is the only split award. We tried to come up with an individual winner, but we didn’t want either player’s hot starts to go unrecognized.  Lee and Choi are averaging a gaudy 26.75 and 23.23 points per game thus far, respectively. Choi paces the league in triples with 15, while Mark has sunk 11. Honorable Mentions: David Ri and Ace Wan

Rambo Award
This award goes to the individual who most epitomizes the warrior mentality
of Rambo. The Rambo Award winner is never afraid to mix it up. Hell, he
relishes each and every opportunity. Whether it’s taking out a jungle full
of baddies or driving full-steam into the paint against an army of
defenders, the player who takes home the Rambo Award is one BAMF. Winner: - Ace Wan – Never one to be afraid to mix it up, Ace drives and kicks with the best of them. The former UConn Huskie has never seen an interior D that he couldn’t penetrate with his mix of shifty moves and smooth handle. Ace is averaging 21.75 points and 3 assists per game while
knocking down 15 trifectas.
Honorable Mentions: Chris Youn and Ray Lee

Flor de Mayo Award
Flor de Mayo, an excellent fusion restaurant on Amsterdam Ave between 83rd and 84th, wanted to sponsor an award, and who am I to deny them this kind gesture? The Flor de Mayo Award goes to the best two-way player. Like Flor de Mayo’s mouth-watering combination of Chinese and Peruvian cuisine, this player can seemingly do it all and leaves spectators wanting to come back
for more. Winner: Chris Youn – Youn is averaging a healthy 17.50 points and 10.75
rebounds per game. A consistent threat to record a double-double, Youn will
expose you on either end of the court, then hit up Flor de Mayo for some
Lomo Saltado. Honorable Mention: David Ri

The Don Cheadle Award
Sponsored by the legendary Don Cheadle, who depicted the streetball legend
Earl “the G.O.A.T.” Manigault in the film “Rebound”, the Don Cheadle award
celebrates the player who steps above and beyond the line of duty when it
comes to cleaning those pesky boards. Like Manigault making change on top of
the backboard, this individual is all over the glass.
Winner :Ray Lee – Leading the league with 16.0 boards per game, Ray is like Lil’
Kevin Love. Except he may be even more dangerous on the defensive end as he
is currently swiping 2.67 steals per game (good for 1st in the league) and
1.67 blocks. Honorable Mentions: Peter Park, Chris Youn and Bada Hong
